Fix the Samsung SFD-321U / Iomega USB driver issues. If you have a Samsung SFD-321U or an Iomega drive then trying to run this on a Windows 8 or Windows 10 system does not work too well. You can try the driver solution which is listed here or you can try a generic driver already on your computer. Follow the pictures below as the Iomega and Samsung uses the same driver as the NEC driver, however the NEC driver will run on Windows 8 and Windows 10.
Samsung SFD-321U / Iomega USB Driver Solution
The product ID came up as:
- USB\VID_055D&PID_2020&REV_0210
- USB\VID_055D&PID_2020&REV_0210
- When I looked it up at PCI Lookup, it just returned:
- Samsung Vendor ID 055d Floppy Disk Drive Device ID 2020
- This new information did not help the search process.
I sincerely doubt if anyone has drivers for this USB floppy drive for Windows 10.
Firstly plug in the drive and wait for the ‘cannot find the driver’ screen to show as below.
Now click on [Start] then click on [Control Panel]
Open [Device Manager] and you will notice that there is a driver which is not working.
Where is shows “Other Devices” you need to Right-Click on it and then click on [Update Driver]
The next screen will ask you where to find the driver. Click on [Browse your Computer].
Now you have a new option which allows you to search your computer. Search the inf files.
Select the option to list all known devices.
Now select the “NEC Systems” “NEC USB Floppy”.
Disregard the next warning.
It will now install the driver on your computer Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10.
The driver is now installed for your device. Now more errors.
Your drive will now show on your computer.
